Heuer's 1978 catalog featured 20 pages dedicated to timers compared to 15 pages for wristwatches – this was while the Carrera and many other iconic models were still within the brand's offerings. The Quartz Revolution was in full swing and without the sturdy brand roots within official timekeeping, particularly that of racing, Heuer could look extremely different than it does today. This era was one of massive realignment in the Swiss watchmaking world. On the cover of that '78 catalog is a proud mention of Heuer's selection as the official timekeeper of the 1980 Olympic Games in Lake Placid.
